Paddington is getting his passport picture taken to become a British citizen. He receives a letter from his aunt, Lucy. But it’s not actually from her. Rather, it’s from a nun called Reverend Mother, saying that Aunt Lucy really misses Paddington so much that she has been acting strangely.

Paddington and his adoptive family, the Browns, fly to Peru to see Aunt Lucy – only to discover that she is missing. Desperate to find her, Paddington takes his family on a mission through the Amazon.

They hire a native, Hunter Cabot, along with his daughter, Gina, to take them on a boat to find Aunt Lucy. However, Hunter becomes careless and distracted with finding gold. He and Gina get off the boat, leaving Paddington and his family alone. This causes the boat to go out of control, especially on aggressive rapids.

Paddington and his family have to jump off the boat and swim to the land. They continue their journey. But they also face many obstacles along the way.

Will they be able to find Aunt Lucy?

This movie differs from the other Paddington films since this is more of an adventure story. But it still remains humorous like the previous ones.

An example is when Paddington inflates his life jacket on the plane during the safety demonstration. A bigger one is when he ends up making a weird face during his passport photo.

His relationship with his family remains sweet, as usual. Each of them do have their own goals, such as Judy applying to university.

There were also lots of twists and turns in this movie. I was very impressed with that. One cool twist is that there is an American character in it.

However, the tension levels were a bit low sometimes. This made parts of the film kind of boring.

But overall, I enjoyed Paddington in Peru. I think it would make a good watch for people of all ages.

I give this movie 4 out of 5 stars.
