As a big movie that did well, The Incredibles had a lot of memorable moments. Below is my top list of the largest parts that stand out to me.

1: When Syndrome lied about what the S stood for on his suit

When Kari is babysitting Jack-Jack, she notices that Syndrome has an S on his suit. So, she asks what it stands for. Syndrome lies and says sitter. Then he makes up a backstory on how he was going to go with babysitter. But that would have meant having a BS on it and he says that he couldn’t do that.

This is an innuendo that will gloss over kids’ heads. But adults will understand this.

2: The robot bird

While in the jungle, there is a robot bird working for the villains. I don’t recall who encountered it. But I do think it was quite creative.

3: When Frozone asked his wife where his suit was

Sometime during the film, Frozone asks his wife, Honey, where his super suit is. He can’t find it.

Aside from the fact that Honey is his wife’s legal first name and not a term of endearment for her, the way Frozone asked the question was kind of funny.

4: When Bob refused to attend Dash’s moving-up ceremony

Although the ceremony never gets shown, Helen gives Bob a hard time about not wanting to go to it. Bob thinks moving up from the 4th grade to the 5th grade isn’t something to celebrate. He considers it mediocre.

This scene stands out to me because it not only reveals how old Dash is, but also how his father views his moving-up ceremony. Raising a child is hard work, which is why most parents look forward to seeing their kids move up from elementary to middle school.

5: When Bob didn’t realize that it was bad news that Dash had to go to the principal’s office

During a family dinner, Helen reveals to Bob that Dash had to go to the principal’s office. Bob asks how that went. But then Helen tells him that it’s bad that Dash had to go there.

This part stands out to me because it shows how unaware Bob can be about his life outside being a superhero. It also should be common knowledge amongst parents that if their children have to see the principal during school, that means they did something wrong.

6: When Edna told Bob stories about Cape failures

At some point, Bob needs a new supersuit. So, he goes to Edna. While with her, he asks about adding a cape. But Edna is horrified and tells stories about heroes who wore capes and the disasters they caused. Then she exclaims, “No capes!”

This was clever because capes on superheroes are not only cliched (no offense to any D.C. Comics fans), but can also pose a hazard. Edna made a good point.

7: How Kari was voiced by a man

Kari was the girl who babysat Jack-Jack while Dash and Violet went to catch up with their parents. Despite how her voice isn’t very deep, she was voiced by a man. His name is Bret Parker.

This is interesting because Kari doesn’t sound like a man at all. I don’t know why a guy was picked to voice her. But Bret Parker sure has talent.

Edna was also voiced by a man. But that’s not surprising because she has a deep voice.

Conclusion

So, there you have it. I hope you enjoyed my list of memorable moments from The Incredibles.
