In 1992, where cartoon characters and real humans share a world together, an Acme Corporation scientist named Dr. Lorre messes something up. He accidentally shares information that was meant to be private. Unfortunately, he is then locked up in an Acme portable hole.

Thirty years have passed. In a desert in New Mexico, Wile E. Coyote keeps trying to catch the roadrunner. As always, he keeps failing. And this time, he gets hurt very badly.

But he notices a personal injury law firm commercial on his TV while inside his shed. On it is a man named Kevin Avery, who happens to be a lawyer in the company he belongs to: Avery, Jones & Maltese.

Wile E. Coyote finds various ways to get to Albuquerque, which is where the law firm is located. Ultimately, he makes it.

He also gets to meet Kevin Avery, the man on the commercial. Kevin also accepts that Wile E. Coyote doesn’t speak and uses signs to communicate, even though it’s a limited number.

Wile E. Coyote really wants to sue Acme. It’s for the explosive and dangerous gadgets they created, because ends up getting hurt from while trying to catch the roadrunner.

Kevin and his niece and intern, Paige, accept Wile E. Coyote’s lawsuit. But Kevin does have to deal with a more competitive lawyer that he once knew. His name is Buddy Crane.

Kevin takes Wile E. Coyote to stay in the same motel as him. He even gets him his own room.

The next day, Wile E. Coyote and Kevin try to sue Buddy Crane and the new Acme executive Foghorn Leghorn. The roadrunner is also convinced to testify. But he decides not to.

Sadly, the trial fails for Wile E. Coyote and Kevin. But that doesn’t mean they will give up.

That evening, Bugs Bunny, who keeps his identity secret, tells Kevin on the phone that he should meet with Daffy Duck. Despite that, Kevin convinces Wile E. Coyote that he has lost so many settlements. But Wile E. Coyote is still determined to achieve his goal.

However, sometime later, Kevin discovers Wile E. Coyote’s real reason for capturing the roadrunner. That is to cook and eat him. But Wile E. Coyote does not even notice that Kevin is there.

At some point, they actually meet Bugs Bunny, who reveals the truth about Project Sisyphus. Products that were harmful to cartoon characters for actually being tested for the needs of people.

Later, Kevin is able to arrange a hearing in Washington DC. But Wile E. Coyote will only go if the roadrunner shows up.

However, the night before the hearing, something terrible happens to Kevin. He even yells at Wile E. Coyote for his goals to eat the roadrunner and claims that he will never be able to catch him. Wile E. Coyote gives up hope and runs away.

What will happen next?

This movie cracked me up several times throughout it. And it is not surprising.

The Looney Tunes are known for their silliness and slapstick humor. Wile E. Coyote and the roadrunner are no different.

I do find it a bit odd that Foghorn was the villain. He is not evil at all in the regular Looney Tunes show.

But since I did not watch a whole lot of Looney Tunes growing up, I am a bit more accepting of him being the bad guy.

The overall concept of the story is a very big strength. Not a lot of family-friendly movies combine law with comedy.

An example of a funny moment that occurred is in court, when the judge ended up with a cartoon hammer. He banged on his podium with that, which made a soft squeak instead of a loud boom as the other versions of that hammer do.

But the facts teaching audiences about law, legal rights, and testimonies was done really well. It was enough to educate the viewers, but not enough to turn the movie into an educational one to the point it detracted from the plot.

Overall, I enjoyed Coyote vs Acme. It is fun enough for people of all ages enjoy – especially if they’re interested in law.

I give this film 4.5 out of 5 stars.
