With every movie comes a different runtime. They usually range from a little over an hour to almost 3 hours.

However, less than a year ago, I decided to split my time watching films that were 2 hours or more. There are different reasons why.

1: I have a very short attention span

This is likely due to a disability that I have. I even struggle to finish books other than picture books, including those that I enjoy a lot.

Anyway, the same applies to a good number of movies. I’ll watch half in the morning and the other half in the afternoon or evening. Or I’ll split the time up into thirds or quarters. I’ll even watch some films in a 2 day span.

Believe it or not, I can remember certain details better that way.

2: Splitting time lets me focus on other things

This is especially true for weekdays. I have to go to work, attend doctors appointments, and help my mom with errands.

I technically have more time on weekends. But I also spend a lot of weekends with my friends, including taking them long trips.

Exceptions

Regardless of what I said, there are times where I do watch a film that is 2 hours or more in one sitting.

1: If I’m at the movie theater

Obviously, splitting the watch times is not an option there. On the bright side, though, most of the long films that I saw in the theaters were very engaging.

Which brings me to my next point:

2: If the movie is really exciting, I’ll sit through the whole thing

And that’s a good thing. As far as I can remember, I’ve had the time to watch a 2+ hour movie in one sitting because it was that fun.

3: If a friend plays it at their house

Just like at a movie theater, I can’t request to split the watching time up. I’ll be a good guest and view the whole thing straight through, regardless of how engaging or boring it is.

Conclusion

If you are an avid movie watcher, I hope this post gave you some inspiration.
